Sizing tool

How many bins fit on your shelf?

Enter the measurements of the shelf you are trying to organize and we will show which of our standard bin sizes fit, how many you can line up side by side, and the space left over. The drawing is to scale, so you can see the arrangement before you buy anything.

Measure the inside of the shelf, not the outside of the cabinet. Leave about two inches of clearance above the bin so you can lift things out.

Best fit

6 × small bin

11 × 6 × 4 in, usually for drawers, cables, toiletries. That leaves 3 in of width spare.

Measure once

Use a tape measure across the shelf, then front to back, then from the shelf to the one above it. Small differences matter: an inch of depth is often what decides between two bin sizes.

Leave room to reach

Keep about two inches of clearance above the tallest bin, and never plan a row so tight that a hand cannot slide in. A shelf that fits fewer bins is easier to keep tidy.

One size per shelf

Matching bins across a single shelf reads as intentional and lets you swap contents later. Vary sizes between shelves, not within one.
